Chapter 11 - Establishing the yoko civilisation

About this chapter

In this book Dr Tebecis has conveyed his understanding of the basics of Sukyo Mahikari – how and why it began, how it is developing, and some of the main concepts. He has outlined how the Light and universal laws are relevant to religion, medicine, science, education, economics and agriculture. They are equally relevant to the humanities, architecture, music, art, sport or any other field. This chapter deals with where all this is heading – the future yoko civilisation – which is being established by not only Sukyo Mahikari practitioners, but by other people of  academic, technological and professional expertise.

‘Yoko civilisation’ is a term that the founder of the Mahikari organisation used to describe a civilisation in which people live in peace and harmony, according to the universal laws of God, practising a high-level science, medicine, education, agriculture and other pursuits, and sharing resources harmoniously, irrespective of race, creed, birth or other differences. The yoko civilisation refers to a civilisation of Light, a civilisation where human beings are good, kind, positive, cooperating, developing the various professions in ways that fit with the will of God, ways that are people-friendly and environment-friendly. How this will be achieved is a challenge for humankind.

Readers can realise that Sukyo Mahikari is striving to play a significant role in helping to establish a new civilisation, and that it is an organisation with a broad heart and a long vision, an altruistic movement for all humankind.

"This is a really great book. I was riveted. I've done many different things in my life - at present I'm in the entertainment industry - and this book covers good guidance on practically all aspects of life. As a businessman I've learnt how to be a better businessman. As a family man I know how to be a better husband and father. It would benefit academics and professionals to help improve the world. Everyone would get a lot out of this book, no matter what their background. I can heartily recommend it."
