Chapter 9 - Spiritually oriented business the new direction for sound economics |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
About this chapterThe author points out limitations of materialistic economics, citing economists, environmentalists, scientists and other concerned researchers. He explains his understanding of spiritual economics, which can make all the difference in the long term: Purify and elevate your spiritual condition (which includes resolving spirit disturbance). Recognise the law of cause and effect - that one’s present situation is the net result of all the activities of the past, including the activities of oneself and one’s ancestors in previous lives - and therefore make an action plan for one’s life. Understand that cleansing and waves in life are essential for growth and development, and that these may manifest as financial hardships. Therefore, since one has to receive compensation or cleansing anyway, it is best to do it willingly and with altruistic attitudes. Recognise that all natural resources have been created by God and really belong to God, so strive to use them wisely, with gratitude and in order to fulfil the plan of God. All this is explained in an easy-to-understand way, with actual experiences. The chapter provides a challenging new perspective for those who are studying economics and related fields, and for people in general, as there is noone who is not touched by the economic situation. |

Comments from readers"This book has really opened my eyes. I own and manage health clubs throughout India, most of them in Mumbai, and much of the book has given me valuable food for thought, particularly the chapter on spiritually oriented business. What an effective approach to business! Today's world cannot depend only on intelligence, but has to take into account the emotional and spiritual aspects as well. I have introduced appropriate practices in my office and can see that they are bearing fruit. Prashant Talwalkar, businessman, Mumbai, India * "Dr A.K. Tebecis is such a great writer. Years ago I listened to his lecturing and was most impressed. His latest book has so much in it for me. The part that struck me most was the section on economics. The problems were so clearly stated and the solutions truly inspiring." Laura Ward, retired art gallery director, Auckland, New Zealand |
